Sailor KOP King of Pens Füllhalter - Ebonite, gold trim

The King of Pens is a very special fountain pen: very simple, very large and with an almost unique 21K gold nib!

The body is made of Ebonite, a material that always radiates a certain warmth. It ages over time and then changes color from initially black to blackish-brown. A converter is hidden in the body. This has the advantage that no detail disturbs the almost ideal shape of the pen.* The 21K gold nib ensures particularly soft writing. It is available in two weights: M and B, these being the Japanese classifications such that the M nib corresponds to a western fine nib and the Japanese B nib corresponds to a western M nib.

* Well, we have also classified this fountain pen as a piston fountain pen. This is of course not correct as the barrel is not fully available as an ink reservoir, which is one of the definitions of a piston fountain pen. But on the one hand there is no way to purchase the corresponding Sailor cartridges in Europe. And on the other hand, it is also part of the philosophy of this pen that not even the cut required for a direct piston mechanism should disturb the body, but that the filling should be hidden in the plain body. That's why we still listed it as a piston fountain pen.
